Is olive oil good for your skin? And what about using olive oil on your face? We get these questions often. It is very healthy to apply olive oil to your face and skin and allow it to absorb into your pores. Why? Here’s why…

1. Hydration of the face

Extra virgin olive oil contains a high dose of vitamin E. This is an antioxidant that protects the skin from external factors like sunlight and wind. The light texture of olive oil creates a non-sticky moisturizer that lasts and is applicable to all skin types.

What do you need?
One tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.

What should you do?
Dry off after showering, but massage the organic olive oil into your face while it’s still a little damp. Let it soak in for about 15 minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water. If you have very dry skin, massage the oil into your face before bed and leave it on overnight. The next morning, you can wash it off with warm water.

2. Olive oil improves the health of your skin

Most people swear by natural products when it comes to body care. Ultimately, we all want glowing skin. How can olive oil help with this? Well, because it contains so much vitamin E, it can have a beneficial counter-effect on extremely dry skin, inflammation, acne, and even more severe conditions.

What do you need?

  • 2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup of yogurt
  • 1/4 cup of honey

3. Helps remove makeup

Olive oil is an easy and relatively inexpensive alternative to more expensive brand products that help remove makeup. And more importantly, you won’t find a product that is 100% healthy for your skin anywhere else.

What do you need?

  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Cotton pads

What should you do?
Pour some olive oil onto a cotton pad and wipe it over your face to remove the makeup. It can also be used around your eyes!
