The Gkazas Family Olive Oil Subscription
Want to know more about our olive oil and our olive oil subscription? You can! Our story begins in Crete. Here, we harvest our olive oil on our own land, as well as that of our friendly neighbors. Since Gkazas Olive Oil has grown rapidly, thanks to your enthusiasm, over the years we’ve had to bring in more olive farmers to meet the demand. Fortunately, we know all of these farmers personally, so we can be sure of how the olives are harvested. And we do it in the most authentic way: by hand. First, large nets are laid on the ground, and then we carefully shake the olives off the branches.
After a day of diligent harvesting, the olives are immediately taken to the press. This is essential, as it allows us to preserve the quality of the olives. And, of course, the extra virgin olive oil. By pressing the olives right away, we ensure the highest quality. We have a unique standard: the oil must be just the way the Greeks like it. Fortunately, every harvest (and every year), we manage to meet this high-quality standard.
After harvesting, the olive oil is stored for a natural self-filtering process that lasts several months. Then, the Greek olive oil is finally ready to make its way to the Netherlands. Super fresh, from tree to olive oil bottle, or olive oil can, of course. And that’s how you get the best olive oil there is!
