We’re big fans of canned olive oil — and it shows in the variety we offer at Gkazas. From our 50ML trial-sized can, to the compact 200ML can, the practical 1-liter can with spout, and our large 5-liter can for heavy use. Why do we love cans so much? Because they protect the oil from the key factors that affect its shelf life: light, air, and heat.

- Light: Cans completely block out light. Thanks to the handy spout you can press back in after use, no light gets through. For our bottles, we use dark glass to limit light exposure as much as possible.
- Air: Once a product is opened, some air will inevitably get in. But you can limit this by closing the bottle or can immediately after use. Gkazas Olive Oil features an airtight seal, helping preserve its quality for longer.
- Temperature: We store our products in a dark room with a constant temperature — not too cold, and definitely not too warm. 14–16°C is the ideal range.

Let’s start by busting a myth: cans do not affect the taste of olive oil. In fact, products stored in cans retain their qualities and flavor best. Cans are also unbreakable, have a long shelf life, and — just like glass — are sustainable and fully recyclable, since they never lose quality. Our story

Extra virgin olive oil cans from the mountains of Crete
We, the Dutch-Greek Gkazas family, produce organic olive oil on our own land in Crete and that of friendly neighbors. Out of love for the product, we harvest in the most authentic, pure, and natural way — with our own hands. What does that look like? After a day of handpicking, the olives are brought straight to the press. Only then can we guarantee the highest quality olive oil. We cold-press the olives and store the extra virgin olive oil for a natural self-filtering process. After several months, the oil is ready to travel to the Netherlands. Super fresh — from tree to olive oil can!
